We've had a busy two days here in Bangkok. Yesterday we spent 6 hours or so at the Largest weekend market in the world. Bought some things. People watched. Checked out a lot of stuff. Almost everything you could ever think of is at the market (except electronics). I had a rough time walking through the "pet area". We tried to avoid but kept ended up there a few different times. Came back to Khao San Road and our hotel. Had a few beers and people watched (definately one of our favorite pasttimes here).
We got a Thai massage. Interesting. You lay on the floor and they sit on you, knee you, bend you backwards, twist your arm, etc. Very nice. Not so much relaxing as it is stretching, etc.
Ryan tried on the suit he had tailored made. He said it was good quality. All I know is it looked nice. Navy blue. So then he bought 4 more and I bought one. Don't know when I will wear it but Ry said for that price I should go ahead and get one just in case. So today we will go and try on the jackets from the latest suits and make sure they look okay. Then the rest should be done in a few days. After the tailor, we walked around some more and got a foot massage. Very nice. It's our second foot massage (we got one in Kuala Lumpur too). They're Ry's favorite.
Today we went to the train station to book an overnight train to Chiang Mai on May 7th. Then we let the Tuk Tuk driver take us around the city. It is super cheap (the equivalent of about $0.60 for all day). The catch is that he takes you to numerous stores on the way and he gets compensated for us even just walking into the store. We didn't buy anything and after a few stops this got a little tiresome so we headed back to our hotel. Now we are going to grab lunvh, a beer, our books and an outside table and people watch for awhile.
Hopefully tomorrow we are headed to the Beach town of Hua Hin. We'll see.
Hope all is well. Thank you for your replies. I make sure Ry sees them too.
